Enlighted, Inc. Unveils Groundbreaking, Advanced Lighting Control System for Commercial Buildings, Delivering Average of 50-70 Percent Savings on Electricity Costs

Enlighted solutions installed at more than 35 Fortune 1000 customers

February 22, 2012 – Sunnyvale, CA – Enlighted, Inc.®, a breakthrough lighting control system company, has unveiled the Enlighted Virtuo Series™, which features the industry’s first autonomous, adaptive sensor. This “thinking” sensor measures ambient light, occupancy and temperature at each fixture and tailors light levels to each user’s actual needs maximizing occupant comfort and minimizing energy cost.

Enlighted’s solution is currently installed in 35 Fortune 1000 customers including Google, Turner Broadcasting System, Inc., LinkedIn, JDSU, Smart Modular Technologies, Unico Properties LLC and more representing a broad range of industries. This customer traction propels Enlighted to the forefront of the industry as its unique solution dramatically alters the lighting landscape.

Enlighted’s unique patented solution delivers a triple-value benefit. First, the system delivers a bankable energy savings rate in the range of 50 to 70 percent. This savings rate exceeds all previous lighting controls systems because the system is distributed down to the individual fixture. The installation process is also simplified because the connection between the sensor and fixture enables the system to auto-commission itself for each unique environment into which it is installed. Finally, the system has a network backhaul enabling facility managers to monitor the performance of the system and validate energy savings claims.

“We knew that we had to have Enlighted in our portfolio because we were really excited by the sheer magnitude of how much this technology can save in energy and costs,” said Steve Jurvetson, Managing Director, Draper Fisher Jurvetson. “When you can save 70 percent of your electricity with something that doesn’t require any sacrifice, it is a no brainer. This intelligent, easy, low cost technology is leading a new generation of lighting sense and control solutions. With its impressive list of high profile customers, we are confident that Enlighted’s platform is quickly becoming a must-have in energy efficiency technology.”

“Our customers have realized the benefits of our solution. Many of them are moving forward with significant deployments,” stated Tushar Dave, CEO and co-founder of Enlighted.

The U.S. wastes approximately $42 billion annually in unnecessary energy; U.S. commercial buildings in particular waste $15 billion in unnecessary lighting. Enlighted’s mission is to offer an innovative, cost-effective and simple solution that, when broadly deployed, can save between $70 billion and $95 billion in annual lighting costs, according to the Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory.
