Enlighted CEO Stefan Schwab Named “IoT Company CEO of the Year” From IoT Breakthrough
Annual IoT Breakthrough Awards Program Recognize Standout Internet-of-Things Companies and Products
IoT Breakthrough, a leading market intelligence organization that recognizes the top companies, technologies and products in the global Internet of Things (IoT) market, today announced that Enlighted CEO, Stefan Schwab, has been selected as the winner of the “IoT Company CEO of the Year” award in the 5th annual IoT Breakthrough Awards program. Enlighted, a Siemens Company, is a world leader in the IoT for Buildings.
The mission of the IoT Breakthrough Awards program is to recognize the innovators, leaders and visionaries from around the globe in a range of IoT categories, including Industrial and Enterprise IoT, Smart City technology, Connected Home and Home Automation, Connected Car, and many more. This year’s program attracted more than 3,850 nominations from companies all over the world.
“Enlighted is not only transforming the office work experience by revolutionizing the way intelligent buildings and people interact, but the technology is also being used to help keep employees safe during COVID-19 and beyond,“ said James Johnson, managing director at IoT Breakthrough. “Stefan Schwab, CEO of Enlighted, is delivering ‘breakthrough’ leadership in overseeing the strategic direction of the company to deliver on the promise of smart buildings and IoT. We’re proud to recognize Mr. Schwab’s leadership and achievements with our ‘IoT Company CEO of the Year’ award in the 2021 IoT Breakthrough Awards program.”
Schwab began his Siemens career in 2006 in business development in Germany. Over the years, he advanced through positions of increasing responsibility in executive management. When Enlighted was acquired by Siemens in 2018, Schwab was appointed as CEO with a priority goal to keep its commercial IoT innovation growing as the company scales. He has tested and proven his approach for the past two years fostering innovation, strengthening team collaboration and driving business growth.
“While I’m honored to receive this distinguishment in the annual IoT Breakthrough Awards program, the honor doesn’t just belong to me – I’m surrounded by a fantastic team of people with a shared goal of delivering breakthrough IoT solutions for our customers – particularly during these trying times,” said Stefan Schwab, CEO of Enlighted, a Siemens company. “The omnipresence of digital technology in everyday life has heightened client expectations and Enlighted is committed to exceeding these expectations.”
Under Schwab’s leadership and direction, Enlighted moved quickly and strategically to apply its current IoT technology and develop new technology to help get employees back into the workplace safely during COVID-19 and beyond. Schwab’s team launched its new IoT digital workplace contact tracing and risk reduction application, Safe, in July. The Safe application continuously records location, movement, and proximity of badge tags – provided by employers – in a building. Safe identifies the busiest, riskiest and most over-occupied spaces so management can make proactive preventative decisions based on real-time data to reduce person-to-person contact.
“The key to Stefan’s success is his ability to drive strategy and operations while fostering great teamwork,” commented Dave Hopping, CEO at Siemens Smart Infrastructure Solutions & Services, on Stefan being named IoT company CEO of the year by IoT Breakthrough. “Developing Safe is a prime example of how Stefan keeps innovation at the core of Enlighted. During a time of great uncertainly, he has tested and proven his approach for adopting creative thinking and extreme agility, strengthening team collaboration and most importantly, listening to his customers.”
In addition to Safe, Schwab’s team launched a new Surface Sensor, designed for quick and easy installation directly on workplace surfaces such as conference room ceilings or under desks. The surface sensor is expected to accelerate the adoption of IoT solutions in commercial real estate.
